Wanted to share some hot-off-the-press research from NCOA on food insecurity and SNAP.
Research conducted by NCOA in conjunction with LeadingAge LTSS @Umass Boston points to possible long-lasting, pernicious effects on food insecurity posed by the pandemic. (See attached infographic.)
The research also points out how
SNAP benefits have not kept up with the rising cost of food and there are still a substantial number of older adults who are skipping meals despite being enrolled in the program.
