ABOUT US

The Healthy Food Community of Practice includes ~35 organizations including NCOA that are focused on learning and working together to ensure that everyone can access and consume healthy foods, particularly communities that face the greatest barriers to it such as people of color, tribal communities, older communities, and rural communities. While the group formed prior to the pandemic, the effect of COVID-19 on communities across the country provided an opportunity to shift the focus to more immediate needs. 

 

PURPOSE OF THE SURVEY

One of the issues the community has been focused on is understanding how the experience of enrolling in food assistance benefits (e.g., SNAP, WIC, etc.) has evolved during the pandemic due to changing policies, shifting unemployment numbers, and unprecedented numbers of families experiencing food insecurity.

 

Our working group would like to listen and learn more from you about how you have adapted your work. Our hope is to identify lessons learned and recommendations from your experiences “on the ground” and cultivate a learning community.
