Equitable Relief Extension Update

 

We wanted to share that CMS has extended the equitable relief and modified the eligibility criteria to make the relief available to certain individuals who were dually enrolled in both Medicare Part A and coverage through the Health Insurance Exchange up through September 30, 2019. Individuals who meet the eligibility criteria can request the relief at any time.

 

This assistance will be considered on a case-by-case basis for current or previously dually-enrolled beneficiaries. Attached is a tip sheet outlining the details of this assistance, information about who is eligible, and how to request it.

 

Individuals who believe they are eligible for this assistance should contact Social Security at 1-800-772-1213 (TTY users should call 1-800-325-0778).
