Legal Basics: Medicaid Appeals
Medicaid applicants or recipients must receive written notice whenever a state Medicaid agency or managed care plan denies, reduces,
terminates, suspends or limits services, and they have a right to appeal the adverse action. Legal aid advocates play a critical role helping older adults navigate the appeal process, representing clients in fair hearings, and ensuring their rights are protected.
In this this free webcast,
Legal Basics: Medicaid Appeals, participants will obtain a basic understanding of the following:
-
Due process protections in Medicaid;
-
Appeals processes and types of Medicaid decisions that can be appealed; and
-
Common challenges faced in Medicaid appeals and strategies to address them.
This Legal Basics training builds on previous Medicaid webinars in the NCLER webinar series:
Medicaid 101 and
Medicaid Long-Term Services and Supports. Participants are encouraged to review
these materials prior to the Medicaid Appeals training.
Closed captioning will be available on this webcast. A link with access to the captions will be shared through GoToWebinar’s chat
