Friends,

I am sad to inform you that Michelle Holzer, the Maryland SHIP director for more than 30 years, passed away yesterday. Michelle was a friend to many of us. She was a strong advocate of the SHIP program and was active in its becoming a national program in the 1990s. She was passionate about its mission and the important work that SHIP directors and counselors provide each day in their communities. She was admired for her enthusiasm, insight and dedication to her work.

Michelle is survived by her husband, Dave, and children, Michael and Amy, as well as extended family and many friends.

Condolence cards can be sent to her husband Dave Holzer at 3 Borgia Ct., Baltimore, MD 21234.

Her son Michael writes, “In lieu of flowers or gifts, the family would appreciate if you would make a donation to NCOA in Michelle's name.”

Best,

Leslie
