It’s curious to me that CMS doesn’t just send the all-inclusive SSA-L448 to all possible limited income cohorts. And the statement “If you file an application for Extra Help, you don’t have to file a separate
application to get help from your State” is not accurate for Alaska or WA. Should I let Nancy Berryhill and Seema Verna know?

Subject: MIPPA Listserv: SSA Model letters to SSA enrollees on MSP and Extra Help
Hello All,
SSA has modified the letters they are sending to Medicare beneficiaries who may be eligible but not enrolled in MSP, Extra Help or both. Attached are the new model letters which are being sent out over the next four weeks. They are individually
addressed to recipient (i.e. not just the form letter). As we previously noted in an earlier email, we have posted the visualization and zip code data where the letters are being sent on our webpage.

Thanks,
Leslie
