Hello,

Several representatives from SSA will be presenting at the Benefits Enrollment Conference on how SSA can work with local partners to educate the public on SSA benefits. They would like to include a local BEC or MIPPA grantee on the panel who has been successfully partnering with their local SSA field office.  The session description is below. Please email me directly if you are interesting in participating in the panel and I will connect you with SSA.

Social Security serves as an economic safety net for millions of older Americans and people with disabilities.  As Baby Boomers age and an unprecedented number of Americans enter their disability prone years, it is critical that SSA collaborate with Benefit Enrollment Centers and others to find effective strategies to ensure that benefits reach our most vulnerable populations.  During this workshop, we will discuss ways that we and our local partners help educate the public on SSA administered benefits as well as identify creative opportunities for us to work together to improve access to benefits.  We look forward to a robust discussion.  Please come prepared to share your ideas, innovations, and best practices!

Thanks,

Leslie
