CMS & LGBTQI+ Elderly Webinar Series for Fall 2024
 
The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) will host a series of webinars this fall 2024 to provide helpful tips and resources for LGBTQI+ older and elderly adults.
 
Who should attend: general public, patient organizations; social services; nonprofits; faith leaders; community, business and civic leaders; local, state and federal legislative and constituent staff; and financial assistance programs; and anyone who wants to help family/friends with their Medicare and or Medicaid services.

Office of Civil Rights: Health Care Rights Law Rule 101 for Older Adults
Overview of Health Care Rights Law Rule 101 for Older Adults and how the new regulations impact older adults. Medicare providers are prohibited from discriminating and clarifies that LGBTQI+ individuals are protected against discrimination based on sex.

Medicare Open Enrollment
Now is the time to compare your current coverage to all your choices for 2025 and select the plan that best fits your needs and budget.

Dually Eligible: Medicare & Medicaid
People who are dually enrolled in both Medicare and Medicaid, also known as dually eligible individuals, fall into several eligibility categories. These individuals may either be enrolled first in Medicare and then qualify for Medicaid, or vice versa.

Overview of drug coverage under the different parts of Medicare, (2) eligibility & requirements, and (3) Extra Help with drug coverage costs.
 
Why should you attend: Join us this fall for trainings including time for questions and answers covering some of the most important things people should know about their rights and access to Medicare and Medicaid coverage. 
 
Learn about the resources you can share with others to help them understand Biden’s Administration health care rights Law Rule 101 for older adults, open enrollment, Medicare & Medicaid, Medicare Disability Coverage, Coordination of Benefits, and Part D: Drug Coverage.
