Dear MIPPA and BEC network,
Good morning!
The Administration for Community Living (ACL) is pleased to invite you to the first Federal Forum on Serving Older Adults. This forum is intended to bring together staff from community based organizations to learn from federal agencies about a broad range of topics that matter to low-income older adults and those they serve. Topics may include finances, taxes, food, healthcare, housing, transportation, working, and more. The workshops will be facilitated jointly by federal benefit experts from agencies such as the Social Security Administration (SSA), Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS), Department of Housing & Urban Development (HUD), Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB) and more. ACL will also evaluate the effectiveness of these sessions to make improvements for future sessions.

The first session, to be held March 13, 2024, from 3-4 pm ET, will focus on the Inflation Reduction Act (IRA) and Medicare, including the expansion of the Low-Income Subsidy or Extra Help. Following the presentation, we will host small group discussions for you to discuss and share information about topics of interest to you and your clients. You will also have an opportunity to ask questions of federal agencies about federal programs and benefits which will be answered via email after the session.

Participation in this session is by registration only. Please follow this link to register for the session: https://cgstrategy.zoom.us/meeting/register/tZEkc-mhrT4oH93dkKDRWhYG4-F8IdKO54JQ. Session attendance will be capped at 300 participants, so please be sure to register and log in on time for the session.
Thank you Darren
