NCOA welcomes anyone in the MIPPA network to attend a webinar we are hosting
Wednesday, March 23rd at 3 pm EST, reflecting on MIPPA’s past, present, and future.
For over 15 years, state aging and disability agencies have used funding from the Medicare Improvements for Patients and Providers Act (MIPPA) to connect hundreds of thousands
of low-income Medicare beneficiaries to subsidies that help them pay their healthcare and prescription costs. How has the way MIPPA activities are implemented changed during that time? What lessons—about partnerships, volunteerism, messaging—have we learned
along the way?
Join us for a candid conversation about MIPPA with two leaders in the network: Judith Bendersky, former director of the Alaska State Health Insurance Assistance Program
(SHIP) and currently Field Supervisor in Washington’s Statewide Health Insurance Benefits Advisors (SHIBA).; and Tim Smolen, SHIBA Program Manager at Washington State Office of the Insurance Commissioner .
We’ll share clips from a lengthier interview with Judith, and talk with Judith and Tim about managing transitions within MIPPA, plus allow plenty of time for questions and
answers.
