An early holiday gift…
About a month back, you may recall I circulated a
memo and PDF from the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services that talked about flexibilities states can offer in administering the Medicare Savings Programs, and provided data at the state level around the percentage of Extra Help/LIS enrollees who were
missing MSP.
Yesterday, I received the attached spreadsheet from CMS which breaks this data down by zip code. The data is from September 2021. Note that, for privacy reasons, CMS has to suppress any zip code
with numbers <11, so you’ll just see dashes for those zips.
Hope this helps you further target your education about MSPs to those areas where people may be missing this benefit!
