What’s Next with COVID-19 & Volunteer Management:

A Two-Part Webinar Series

PART 1: Wednesday, May 12 | 2 PM - 3 PM ET

PART 2: Tuesday, June 29 | 2 PM - 3 PM ET

Having made massive adjustments to involve volunteers during the COVID-19 pandemic, SMPs and SHIPs are now facing the equally difficult task of deciding what rules and protocols need to be changed to deal safely with the impending (we hope) ability to return to performing some program activities in person, including working with volunteers.

This two-part VRPM webinar series, presented by Steve McCurley, will look at how volunteer management can, and must, alter how SMP and SHIP volunteers are engaged as things get back to “normal,” or at least to whatever passes for normal.

Among the questions discussed will be:

·    How will COVID-19 vaccinations change what volunteers can do?

·    Can we go back to holding in-person trainings and gatherings?

·    When should we return to face-to-face work with beneficiaries?

·    What changes did we make during COVID-19 that are worth keeping?

·    Will we be wearing masks forever?

We’ll try to examine all the major factors that will go into each SMP/SHIP program’s decision to return to “business as usual” operations.

Presenters: Administration for Community Living leadership and Steve McCurley, Volunteer Management Consultant for the national SMP and SHIP Centers.

Audience: The intended audiences for this webinar are SMP and SHIP coordinators of volunteers (CoVs), project directors, and others who SMP or SHIP project directors wish to invite, such as partners who help train or manage SMP volunteers. This webinar is being conducted jointly by the SMP National Resource Center and the SHIP National Technical Assistance Center. Anyone in the MIPPA network who is interested in this topic is also welcome to attend.
