Hi Cindy:
Here is the information you are looking for. Unfortunately, MA-PD were instructed to put a lock on the devices when they are not being used for medical telehealth.

Subject: MIPPA Listserv: Re: potential funding sources for technology
Thank you, Ann and partners, I have contacted the MA plans in Masscahusetts to ask if they will be funding tablets or smart devices for individuals and they do not seem to have heard about flexibilities or funds
to provide these.
Can anyone point us to these sources?
Thanks,
Cindy Phillips

List serv members,
As you know, many of the communities we serve are struggling with online access issues. One of your fellow grantees was good enough to pass along a list of funding sources that may be useful in connecting older
adults and persons with disabilities to technology.
Ann
…….If MIPPA grantees are not aware and are not ADRCs, they may want to know there are many funding streams to assist older adults and persons with disabilities getting technology equipment.
1.
FCC funding health providers for telehealth
2.
HUD funding public housing – funding can be used for WIFI, broadband, purchasing of tablets/computers for loan
3.
CIL agencies received CARES grant funds that can be used to purchase technology amongst other things
4.
ADRC received funding for ADRC and were encouraged to partner with the Tech Act in their state. CT is using funds to identify older adults/persons with disabilities at risk of social isolation. CT
Tech Act will be providing assessments, helping to secure technology and providing support/training in use of the technology once it is received
5.
MA-PD plans can now fund tablets/smart devices for use of telehealth
6.
OAA Title IIIB and IIIE funds can be used for technology
There may be hope in reaching some of these older adults/persons with disabilities with these efforts to getting technology in the hands of people who don’t yet have them.
