The SMP National Resource Center has created resources related to COVID-19 fraud that are now available on the website and in the SMP Resource Library. 

Resources

The following resources are available in the SMP Consumer Fraud Alert: COVID-19 Fraud Resources entry within the SMP Resource Library; use keyword search “COVID-19."

  • SMP Consumer Fraud Alert: COVID-19: This SMP Consumer Fraud Alert is available to the public and to SMPs on the SMP Resource Center website to warn about COVID-19 Fraud.
  • COVID-19 Consumer Tip Sheet: This tip sheet includes tips for protecting yourself and Medicare from COVID-19 fraud.
  • COVID-19 Fraud Infographic: This infographic can be shared on social media or printed and used as a handout.
  • COVID-19 Media Tip Sheet (only available in the SMP Resource Library): Talking points for media requests regarding COVID-19 fraud.
  • Sample COVID-19 Press Release Template (only available in the SMP Resource Library): This press release will need to be customized before being sent to media outlets.

Website Updates

The following web pages have been created and are now available.

    • The COVID-19: Fraud page includes:
      • A “More Information” area with links to an infographic (with a national hashtag suggestion) and tip sheet.
      • An "Other COVID-19 Resources" area with links to ACL, CDC, FTC, and CMS.
