Hi all,
CMS’ Medicare and Medicaid Coordination Office (MMCO) has requested comments on its revised Manual for State Payment of Medicare Premiums.
The draft manual updates information and instructions to states on federal policy, operations, and systems concerning the payment of Parts A and B premiums (or buy-in) for individuals dually eligible for Medicare and Medicaid.
MMCO believes that updating this guidance will improve experiences and reduce burden for beneficiaries, states, and the federal government.
Many of you work on these issues every day and MMCO would benefit from your comments and experiences, for example on Conditional Enrollment processes and issues. We think that your on-the-ground experiences will be helpful to improving
the Manual. The Manual is written in a pretty clear manner so it shouldn’t take too long to review, at least chapters 1 and 2. If you don’t have time to submit comments on your own but have something that you would like us to include in NCOA’s comments, please
send them to me.
CMS is inviting interested parties to submit comments or questions on the draft manual using the excel document posted at

by 5:00 p.m. E.S.T. on FEBRUARY 29, 2020 to CMS

More
information and instructions for commenting are available on CMS’ website.
Best,
Leslie
