The Administration for Community Living’s (ACL) Administration on Aging (AoA) , Office of American Indians, Alaskans Natives and Native Hawaiian Program  has released the funding opportunity HHS-2019-ACL-MITRB-1901  “Medicare Improvements for Patients and Providers Act” (MIPPA),  which is now available to eligible Title VI grantees.   Funding awarded under this opportunity will allow Title VI Native American programs to coordinate at least one community announcement and at least one community outreach event to inform eligible Native American elders or Native Hawaiian about benefits that are available to them through Medicare benefits, assisting elders in accessing  Medicare Part D, the Low Income Subsidy Programs, LIS, the Medicare Saving Program or Medicare prevention benefits and screenings and in assisting beneficiaries in applying for benefits. 
 
ACL/AoA will award grants of at least $1,000 to each Title VI Native American grantee for a period of 12 months.  ACL reserves the right to adjust funding levels subject to the number of applications received and availability of funds.    The anticipated award date is on or before September 30, 2019.
 
The deadline date for all application submission is 11:59PM EST August 16, 2019.   Please submit your application to the following email address xxxxxx@acl.hhs.gov.  Include the words “2019 MIPPA Application:  State, Name of Tribe, [Your current TVI Part A Grant Number]” in the subject line of your email.    The application can also be submitted via overnight mail (FedEx, UPS, or USPS to following address:  Administration for Community Living,  Office of Grants Management,  330 C Street SW, Suite 1136B, Washington, DC 20201 - Attention: Yi-Hsin Yan.
 
There will be no exceptions to this application submission deadline.  We encourage all eligible applicants to submit their request for funding well in advance of the date and time specified
