As part of NCOA’s Age+Action Conference in June 2019, we are organizing an optional Hill Day for those attendees who would like to take the opportunity to meet with their elected officials while in Washington, DC. Hill Day offers a chance
to educate policymakers about the important work you are doing and how you’re helping to improve the lives of constituents. Unfortunately, few members of Congress or their staff know about or understand the work that you do.
We often receive questions or concerns from grantees about participating in Hill Day—whether it’s permitted if your agency receives federal funding (it generally is as long as it’s education and not lobbying), what you can/cannot say
to elected officials, and how to go about scheduling appointments with your Representatives and Senators.
NCOA’s Public Policy team is hosting an informational webinar on
February 21st at 3 pm EST to explain more about Hill Day: what it is, what it isn’t, who can participate, and the support available from NCOA to those who may be interested in setting up meetings.
Join us to learn more as you decide whether to take part in this opportunity.
