Dear BEC friends,
Today the Center for Benefits Access at NCOA launched our newest Request for Proposals (RFP) to find state agencies and regional/community-based organizations to join our network of Benefits Enrollment Centers (BECs).
As a reminder, this is a call for new BECs—you will receive a separate communication regarding how to apply for sustainability funding and are not eligible to apply for this opportunity.
However, we encourage you to circulate this RFP if you know of other agencies who would make strong candidates to become a BEC. You can view the full announcement online at:
https://www.ncoa.org/news/ncoa-news/center-for-benefits-news/apply-for-bec-grants-2019/.
As per previous grants, the BECs will be responsible for helping low-income Medicare beneficiaries enroll in the five core programs—Medicaid, LIS, MSP, SNAP, and LIHEAP. The new grants will begin on January 1, 2019.
Applicants are strongly encouraged to complete a simple notice of intent by
Wednesday, July 25, 2018 at 12 p.m. ET. (See page 7 of the RFP for information on where/how to send this LOI.) A link to complete the application will be sent to those who submit a notice. Those who do not submit a notice of intent by the deadline but
would like to apply must still submit a notice of intent in order to receive the application guidance.
Proposals are due by 12 p.m. ET on Wednesday, August 29, 2018.
