Hi Maggie,
I know your day is over, but mine isn’t quite yet.
The Benefits Check Up is a key piece of our process for our BEC program.
Once I get a referral to the BEC program, we contact the client via phone and run them through the BCU (Benefits Check Up) to find out what they are already getting and what they are potentially eligible for.
Once that is done, I then cross check the results of the screening with ORACCESS to confirm what benefits, state wise, they are already getting so that we are not submitting un-necessary applications and we look at the re-certification date for the client
to see if we are able to help them with that process. There is more to our process until the end, but that is how we use and have embedded the BCU into out BEC process.
Please let me know if you have any questions or concerns.
Thank you,

Subject: BEC Listserv: BenefitsCheckUp - Input needed 1/11
Hi all,
We are trying to get a sense of which BECs use BenefitsCheckUp regularly for screening their clients. While all BECs are asked to use it, we realize that it doesn’t always fit into your workflow. We are looking for BECs who have embedded
it into their workflow. Please send me an email by COB 1/11 letting me know if you are doing this. We are conducting some research related to BenefitsCheckUp and may want to follow up with you.
Thanks!
