Please be aware of this special provision, if you are seeing clients who were displaced from Puerto Rico:

The USDA has announced that residents of Puerto Rico who received benefits under Puerto Rico’s Nutrition Assistance Program (NAP) and were displaced by the recent hurricanes can apply for SNAP benefits in their current location, even though they might not be able to close their current case file in Puerto Rico.

In addition, USDA has advised all SNAP State agencies to serve such households using regular SNAP eligibility rules, including expedited procedures as appropriate. This special provision lasts until October 31, 2017.
